Hello, my name is Brian Lohe and I am writing a documentary on Global Warming in English Class. I am a sophomore at Parkway North and would greatly appreciate if you took your time to do this interview for our documentary.
Ok, Thank you. Well, First off;
1.What is your initial reaction when you hear the words global warming? 2.What do you think global warming is? 3.How do you think we’ve contributed to it? 4.Where do you see it affecting us the most? 5. How do you think global warming will affect us personally? 6.When do you think we will start seeing the effects? 7.Do you think we will be able to adapt to these changes? 8.Do you think anything positive could come out of the situation? 9.How can we help the situation? 10.Do you think the whole topic is overblown? Why or Why not?
Thank you very much for your time. It is greatly appreciated, bye.

1. What is your initial reaction when you hear the words, “global warming”?
2. What do you think it does to us?
3. When will we start seeing the effects?
4. How can we help the situation?
5. If you think its us, how have we contributed to global warming?
6. Do you think we will be able to adapt to the warming? Why or why not?
7. Where do we see it happening the most?
8. Do you think it will affect us personally? Such as our homes, our schools, our lives…
9. Do you think the whole topic is over/underblown? Why or why not?
10. What can you, as one average person living in St. Louis, do to help out?

1) I have learned a lot through this project. I have looked at a ton of different articles about global warming and have heard a lot of the same ideas, problems and solutions. I have seen how global warming may not be as serious as we hear all of the time. Every night on the news there is something about how global warming is killing us. There are a lot of other natural causes that have helped warm the globe.
2) I have been suprised how much evidence people have found for both sides of the argument. The side saying its real has shown polar bears dying because of lack of ice. Also how the warming temperatures have caused an increase in hurricane activity. The other side is saying how there is no evidence of humans causing the warming. They say it is natural causes and sun patterns which have caused the warming and cooling of the globe since the beggining of time.
3) The focus on my segment should be talking about what global warming is. Also how severe it is and how it will affect is.
4) Weneed to research further on what is really happening?
5) I dont know if I have any research that could help another group.

In the article, Dr. Roger A. Pielke Jr. states the global warming is not the cause of all of these severe hurricanes that have been hitting the United States. In fact, in the past century, six of the 10 most powerful hurricanes have occurred before 1944, also before all of the panics from global warming began. According to Al Gore’s, “An Inconvenient Truth,” the earth will rise a total of 3-8 degrees before the end of the century. Also, that the oceans will rise 23 inches. However, Pielke says that the warming temperatures do not cause more hurricanes, and will actually help the hurricane situation. Pielke says that instead of spending billions of dollars trying to fight global warming, we should try to adapt to it.
I agree with Pielke, but disagree completely with Gore. In the past century, when we have been using fossil fuels in mass, the global climate has only warmed like .8 of a degree fahrenheit. Our world is not in as much trouble as the media is saying. Sure the globe may be warming, but this is not new. The globe has warmed and cooled ever since it has been around. We will escape, the warming will not be the end of us.

In the most annoying voice I’ve probably ever heard, Cynthia Rosenzweig has ideas to try and make more food for the “warming globe”. She goes on to talk about how the earth warming causes more floods, lessening our food source. She wants to alter food so it will grow better, even in sever flooding. One of her crops, a water proof rice, has been very successful in growing, and has completed the need of growing food in a lot of water.
It is very hard to agree that the earth is in fact warming due to unnatural causes. However, I think she has a good idea to try and engineer food so we can feed our multiplying population. Our population on this planet is so large, it is becoming challenging to feed all of us. So, global warming or not, I think she has a good idea to try and make more food available.

So, a Ukrainian pop star is trying to change the world and Ukraine’s dependency on Natural Gas and fossil fuels. She sings about how there is not much energy that we can use, and we are running low. However, she doesn’t use the actual words, as she signs about the wild energy of love and other topics like that. In one video, she shows a women that is dependent on synthetic energy, and she portrays her as very fake and plastic-like.
I think she has a very good idea on trying to lessen our worlds use of fossil fuels. Although it may seem like we have an infinite amount, we don’t.

1. I’m glad we are doing Global warming. I think it is definitely not real though, which gives it an argumentative purpose to the topic, unlike religious intolerance which is completely one sided. It also is very interesting topic because there is so much modern research going on as we speak.
2. I learned yesterday that the sun controls our climate, not us. We as a human race, have not contributed to the earth’s rising temperature and the solar flares and sun spots control whether or not we have warm or cool weather. I also learned that it is untrue that the ice caps temperatures are high. Current research shows that the temperature has actually dropped over the past half-century or so, contradicting what the media has claimed. Global warming also does not cause hurricanes and whatever other severe weather is being blamed on it. The causes are simply natural, and the carbon dioxide in the air does not cause it.
3. I don’t think we will have too many problems since almost everyone has an opinion on it. We have experts on the subject right down the hallway in Mr. Craddick and Mr. Duggan. The only major problem we will have is people not agreeing on whether or not it is real.

Harvard Expert Debunks Global Warming Threat

In the article, James Glassman interviews Sallie Baliunas, a part of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, about the growing “threat” of global warming. Baliunas claims that the sun is responsible for the warming and cooling of the earth, not humans. She admits that humans have raised the earth a tiny .08 of a degree Fahrenheit in the last hundred years. However, the claim that the level of CO2 is the highest ever recorded is false. In fact, in the early 1900’s, before all the SUV’s and fossil fuels began to be used, the CO2 had a higher concentration then today. She talks about how the solar flares the sun produces have a huge impact on the global climate. In fact, the earth has been on about a 1500 year cycle of downs and ups of temperatures, and currently, we are on a warming one. She says in about 200-300 years, the earth will began cooling once again. On top of that, she claims that the earth warming right now is a good thing, because plants are growing a lot faster and who doesn’t like warm weather? Dealing with the ice caps, the Antarctic temperatures have actually lowered over the past 100 years, proving that the “global warming” is not really melting polar ice caps. The statistics support my arguement very well. The stats bring up new questions on if global warming is really happening or if its just a scare tactic. It is very interesting, after reading this article, how anyone could really believe what the media has been saying to us. This is not a dooming problem that will destroy us in 5 years. True, we should try to control our resources and try to put less carbon in the air, but, its not going to kill us. It is not that serious of a problem.

Alarmists Would Wreck Economy to Combat a Global-Warming Threat
The earth is on a huge global climate cycle of 1500 years. This is due to the sun’s solar flares and sun spots and what not. The Earth is not really warming due to human caused problems. This cycle has been going on since the beggining of the earth, and they found this out, if your wondering, by looking at ancient rocks and digging down into the earth’s core.
This is very interesting because of all the claims by the media and other so called experts on the subject. It completely contradicts all that they are saying. I learned about the sun’s affect on our temperatures and that we are not really the cause of the horrible thing that was already supposed to have killed us.
